David Perryman Inducted at Avon

February 7th, 2017

David Perryman was inducted as Curate-in-Charge of Avon on Monday 6 February 2016 in Holy Trinity Church Stratford at 7.30pm following a clergy dinner at the Macalister Hotel, Maffra. About 130 people attended the service including about 20 clergy from around the Diocese. Also in attendance were a good number from David’s former parish of Wonthaggi-Inverloch. The Catholic Dean of Sale, Dean Peter Bickley and Mr Darren McCubbin Wellington Shire Councillor welcomed David at the end of the service on behalf of the local churches and the Shire. Bishop Kay Goldsworthy in her sermon spoke about the sense of urgency in St Mark’s gospel a portion of which was read during the service. She reflected on the apparent lack of urgency in the process to appoint David and congratulated the parish on its patience. A supper was held afterwards in the hall.
