Christmas at Clifton Waters, Bairnsdale

December 7th, 2016

Eighty three people sat down to a most convivial Christmas Dinner at Clifton Waters Village on 6th December, the second time the dinner has been held in the Village Hall. Once again we were delighted to have the presence of Bishop Kay and members of the board of Gippsland Anglican Retirement Living .

Catering was provided by Maffra Spit Roast Catering who served a splendid two course meal: beverages were supplied by the Residents’ Committee.

During the interval between the main course and sweets, the Village Variety Group entertained the diners in the singing of Christmas carols and the CEO Gippsland Anglican Retirement Living, Lee Jameson, spoke after the dinner to say how much she appreciated the vitality of the village life, the variety of activities operating in the village such as the Variety Group, Craft Group, Men’s Shed, Garden Group, Art Group and the spirit of co-operation and goodwill that prevailed between the residents and the management.

Three Christmas hampers donated by the residents were raffled, and yes, Santa Clause arrived to distribute gifts to all present. Certainly a night to remember!
